Wildkatz beat Diablo FC 4-0 in spring league

West Coast Soccer Club’s Wildkatz 05 girls started NorCal Spring League on Sunday, April 2nd with a win against Diablo FC 05 from Concord.  The teams took to the pitch in Tracy, Ca and from the first whistle the game it was physical.  Diablo tried to take possession of the game early on but were stifled by the solid Wildkatz defense.  Midway through the first half, Katie Strong scored with an assist from Zuzette Zamora and the Wildkatz led 1-0.  Shortly before the end of the first half, Maddie Flask knocked the ball into the goal with a thigh volley from a corner kick. The half would end with the Wildkatz leading 2-0.  As the second half of play began, the Wildkatz scored again with a goal by Jasmine Staples.  Staples was not done as she streaked down the flank providing a perfect pass for Katie Strong to get her second of the game and a 4-0 win for West Coast. Diablo was held scoreless and had few shots on goal throughout the game.  Next up for the Wildkatz is the continuation of NorCal Spring League play with a game against MVLA at Mountain House High School in Mountain House on Sunday, April 9th at 12:00 p.m.
