Whiplash take 2nd at SJ Showcase

The U17 West Coast Whiplash showed tremendous talent at the San Jose invitational Showcase this past weekend finishing 2nd place. Whiplash 00 ended the weekend with 3 wins and 1 loss only falling to Santa Clara Sporting 1-0 in the first game. In the second game Whiplash really started to gel after the long high school break beating NEU Oregon 3-0, with the impressive play from Savannah Boone, Carley Lucero and Daniela Walker. Whiplash peppered Oregons goal in the first half and dominated the rest of the game. West Coast then battled with a tough Santa Cruz Breakers team and took home the 1-0 win after great defensive play from Isa Saavedera and Ali Bischof and Kat Auer.

The last game of the weekend West Coast Whiplash encountered a physical Monarcas academy team but thanks to the stellar saves from goalkeeper Briana O’Dell combined with the offensive attack from Lauren Martin, Bri Torres, and Avenna Cline Whiplash secured a 1-0 win and their 3rd shutout of the weekend.

An Impressive first showcase of the year for West Coast ending the weekend 2nd in points in the San José Invitational Showcase.
