West Coast Wildkatz tour Sac State after 3-1 win

West Coast Soccer’s 05 Wild Katz girls traveled up to Folsom together in the West Coast bus to square off against San Juan Spirits ’05 Blue team.  It took some time for the Wildkatz to warm up and instill their style of play with the efficiency they’ve come to expect of themselves.  Though outplaying their opponents, a number of opportunities narrowly missed the mark and the Wild Katz found themselves down 1-0 at the half, victimized by one of only 2 shot attempts San Juan managed to get off in the first half. Coach Troy’s halftime talk tuned up the misfiring Wild Katz as he instructed the girls what he expected from them for the next 30 minutes, starting with an equalizer within the first 5 minutes of the 2nd half. Sure enough, the West Coast girls came out revved up with a renewed determination and within 2 minutes, a goal from Nadia Sherman who received a flick and pass by Makenna Galvan & Cami Silva. Sherman snuck around to the far side of the 18-yard box and slipped a shot past the goalkeeper quickly tying up the match 1-1. From there on in until the final whistle the Wild Katz pressure never stopped and they completely controlled the match. Cameron Silva put the girls up 2-1 with a blast to the right near post and later Sherman slotted her 2nd goal of the game to finish off the scoring for a 3-1 result in favor of West Coast. After the game Director Troy Dayak, along with Sac State Alumni Adaurie Dayak took the Wildkatz to Sacramento State University for a campus tour and meeting with Head Coach Randi Dedini. Wildkatz resume play on March 4th in a Winter League game against their friends from Modesto, Ajax United ’05 Green.
