West Coast 07 Girls Kryptonite have stellar weekend

The West Coast Kryptonite 07 Girls wrapped up the Fall season with a convincing 4-2 wins over Heritage SC and Orchard Valley. WCS got on the score board early with tremendous pressure which lead to goals by Nylah Trias and Aubrey Westbrook from long range. Ryan Rodriguez was stellar throughout the game at center back and defensive mid, sending dangerous balls on the attack. Skyler Patillo was creative up top with footwork and passing. Heritage had a very hard time getting the ball out of their defensive end with the amounts of pressure being put on them by Jayden Reynolds and Nikki Orth. Second half was the same story with WCS Kryptonite being too hard to handle. Jariah Indalecio put home two more goals to finish out the scoring. West Coast finished with a 8-2-1 record for second place overall for Region 3/4 Gold. The next day Kryptonite had their first game of the second round of state cup versus Orchard Valley Toros Black 07. The game started at a feverous pace, early in the first half Kambrie Jehs launched a ball outside the eighteen yard box, over the keepers head for the first goal of the game. Ella Nguyen and Westbrook controlled the middle of the field, intercepting any passes coming their way. Madden Black and Kendall Shetter played solid defense on the backline while Trias controlled the center. West Coast continued to put the pressure on and was awarded a free kick. Nylah Trias put the shot smoothly in goal for a 2-0 lead. Piper Sweeney came up huge in goal with amazing saves throughout the contest, at one point going full extension and pushing the ball out. Second half the pace quickened, Trias notched a third goal and Indalecio scored the fourth for a 4-2 win. Athena Taylor provided an extra push for the offense, with Reynolds and Orth did well with not letting the defenders pass the ball up field. The West Coast Kryptonite are competing in the top half of the Platinum Bracket for the second round and have an overall 25-14-2 record for the season.
