West Coast 05 Wildkatz win automatic Surf Cup qualifier

The West Coast Soccer 05 Wildkatz girls soccer team are the #1 ranked team in the nation for championship victories. With an astonishing 207 goals in 50 competitive Gotsoccer ranked matches and an impressive 4.14 goals per game average they Wildkatz lead the nation in most goals for any competitive U13 Girls team. Wildkatz proved that they are worthy of this esteemed title as the went undefeated and shut out all opposition in the Surf Cup Qualifier Copita Surf Tournament.

Wildkatz took on Alpine Strikers FC in the first game.  Cameron Silva led the team with three goals followed by Nadia Sherman with two and Savannah Cordero also scored. Midfielders Jayden Morton, Alexis Berlin helped supply steady pressure while Madison Reid and Makenna Galvan were stand out defenders and led the team to a 6-0 win. 

Wildkatz faced Folsom Lake Earthquakes in game two. Silva lead the team again with a hat trick, Zusette Zamora and Karlee Lywandowsky each scored to get the 5-0 victory. 

Wildkatz would met rival Diablo FC in the semi final game to decide who will play for the cup and Automatic birth into Surf Summer.  West Coast came away with a 3-0 victory. Goals scored by Silva, Lywandowsky and Sutton Denny. Kamryn Grimes created many chances and was dangerous on the attack all game long. Taryn Richey, Sydney Goodwin,  Jasmine Staples, Makenna Ross, Zusette Zamora and GK Isabella Gelao led the team defense for the shutout. 

West Coast faced the formidable Blues FC the #3 ranked team in the state in the Championship Game. Wildkatz put relentless pressure on the Blues out shooting them 8-1 but no goals were scored. The second half was much of the same with Wildkatz dominating play and possession. Finally a beautiful shot by Zusette Zamora put the Wildkatz up and the team went to work to get their fourth shutout. The team victory secured the Copita Surf Cup and the automatic placement in Surf Cup in San Diego this Summer.  In all the Wildkatz 05 girls scored 15 goals with no goals against. “This group is special for their age, their sophistication as a team is way ahead of their time they are the Avanti of the 05 age group” Says coach Troy Dayak. Patrick’s Day weekend and after league championships in two playing leagues secured a spot in the 2018 US Youth Soccer Region IV Championships in Honolulu, Hawaii at the Waipio Peninsula Soccer Complex June 18-24th.
