West Coast 05 Wildkatz ranked #1

West Coast Soccer Club produces another #1 ranked team in the state. Recently at the Mustang Winter tournament Wildkatz defeated top level U12 Girls teams from Norcal boosting them to the #1 ranking in the entire state of California. Wildkatz did it with only allowing one goal scored against them in their last 7 games, West Coast Soccer Club’s WildKatz 05 Girls have a trend they continue to maintain as they entered round 2 of State Cup play on Saturday, January 14th.  WildKatz 05G traveled to Modesto where they faced Blues FC 05 out of Rocklin in the first game of the day.  WildKatz scored early in the game on a goal by Katie Strong and would get another by Karlee Lywandowsky shortly before the end of the first half. WildKatz defense anchored by Madison Reid, Taryn Richey, Sydney Goodwin, Emily Hollingshaus, kept Blues FC scoreless. WildKatz dominated play with smooth midfield play from Jayden Morton, Nadia Sherman, Jaelina Hernandez, Mia Mirante and Maddie Flasck as they limited Blues to only a few shots on goal ending the game with a 2-0 win for West Coast.  In the second and final match of State Cup round 2, WildKatz took on long-time rivals Pleasanton Rage Elite II.  Having tied Rage in a previous game, the WIldkatz knew they need a win to move on the top 8 bracket of State Cup.  The game was intense and physical from the start, but Katie Strong powered through several defenders to score in the first half of play.  The second half continued to be physical and intense, but WildKatz were able to keep Rage from scoring and the game ended in a 1-0 with GK Isabella Gelao recording the shutout helping West Coast get the win over Rage.
