WCS U17G Wild Finish First in CYSA State Cup Group Play



West coast Wild finished top of the table in their quest for the CYSA-CalNorth State Cup this past weekend. The Wild are current back to back Norcal State Champions and US Club National Champions. West Coast U17 Wild are attempting something that has never been done before in youth soccer as they set sights on the Double- Double- the CalNorth/Norcal State Championship & USYSA/US CLUB National Championship. The first step towards this extraordinary goal is now under way as the U17 Wild finished first in group and top point getters in the U17 CalNorth State Cup bracket.

Wild started the CalNorth competition with a convincing 4-2 win over Fusion from Alum Rock followed by a 3-0 victory against Fusion from Fresno. The most convincing win of the weekend came against the current CYSA State Champs La Morinda as the Wild flexed their muscles to overpower the current CalNorth champs 6-0. After the 3 group play wins Wild had already secured a spot in the CalNorth Semi Finals and were able to cruise in the 4th game with a 1-1 tie vs rival Juventus Zebre. Wild lead the scoring with 14 goals for and gave up the fewest with 3 out of all teams participating.

Team Wild have a bye in the first round of Norcal State Cup but will be back in action for CYSA-CalNorth State Cup Semifinal vs Santa Clara White on April 25 in Elk Grove at the Bartholomew Sports Park.
