WCS U15 player Kiara Rodrigues gets Puerto Rico WNT invite

14 year old Kiara Rodriguez from Brentwood, CA. gets invite to Puerto Rico U-17 Womens National Team.  Rodriguez plays soccer for the U15 NPL team (Kaos 03) under coach David (Maha) Mahabali and Director Troy Dayak of West Coast Soccer Club in Livermore, CA.

Kiara’s information was shared with Puerto Rican National Team Women’s Technical Director Shek Borkowski from Phil Zayas. Coach Zayas is the president of Global Soccer Academy and the Head Men’s Soccer Coach at Johnson & Wales University. Coach Zayas recently become a scout for the US Youth National Teams, and previously assisted Puerto Rico’s Women’s National Teams.

“After discussing options with Kiara’s club Director Troy Dayak and club coach “Maha” we decided this was a path that we wanted to follow and an opportunity that we very much wanted to peruse” said Kiaras father Eric Rodriguez

Kiara was then contacted on December 12th 2017 by Federación Puertorriqueña de fútbol (FPF) and was invited to participate in the Puerto Rico U-17 WNT Assessment Camp that was held on 8-12 January in Bayamon, Puerto Rico.

“I had an amazing time, it was so much fun. I felt very included right from the start. The coaches and players were very welcoming”

Since her trip and receiving feed back from Coach Shek. Kiara has been requested back for additional training and will be traveling again to Puerto Rico on March 12-16th where she will play vs Southern Virginia University with the U17 Puerto Rico Team in hopes of making the 20 player roster for the CONCACAF U-17 Women’s Championship in Nicaragua this April.
