WCS Kurse wins a pair in Vegas

West Coast Kurse ranked 38th in Northern California traveled to Las Vegas Nevada’s Mayors Cup College Showcase and won two games defeating two top ten teams. Kurse faced off first against home town favorite FC Warriors Blue ranked 6th in Nevada. West Coast Kaleigh Garcia provided the first assist to goal scorer Monique Reil. FC Warriors anwered back to tie the game. Tori Trautwein scored from a great ball from Essabella Grajedo and then Essabella scored the third goal on a ball from Monique Reil. Back and forth it was a intense match. In the end it was stellar ball movement with a fast clean switch of attack and accurate pass from Dylan Eustachy to Heather Tarabini for the game winner. Final score was Kurse 4 FC Warriors Blue 3. Tournament play moves fast and within 2 hours West Coast Kurse was back on the field facing an extremely physical Fort Lowel Arizona ranked 15th in their state. The game got quickly out of hand as there were multiple no calls for both teams which lead to very scrappy play. Being the second game of the day and taking multiple injuries Kurse fell short with only 1 goal by a connecting pass from Monique Reil to Heather Tarabini. Fort Lowel found lady luck and put up 6. Kurse gathered and rallied together for Sundays 8am kickoff versus Real Henderson of Nevada ranked 8th in their state. Henderson heavily scouted Kurse the day prior but it showed that West Coast technical abilities are superior. Kurse was victorious with goals from Kaliegh Garcia and Monique Reil. Savannah Maselli and Mia Crannell provided the assists for the win. West Coast Kurse Defense includes Goalkeeper Briana O’Dell, Kylie Karter, Jessa Lyons, Makena Winton, Kaite Figueroa, Jordan Brown, Jordan Goodwin, Devyn Baldus, Dylan Eustachy, and Leila Ganz.
