West Coast’s 06 Girls team, Krossfire, took to the pitch this past weekend competing in the San Jose Invitational Tournament at Twin Creeks Sports Complex in Sunnyvale, CA. Krossfire started the weekend off with a match against EC Real Salinas Leoncitas 06. EC Real came out firing and took the lead in the 4th minute, sneaking a shot in. Krossfire answered back when Kendra Riddiough hit a pass to Madylin Harrell who one touched it back to Kendra who netted the equalizer. In the second half Krossfire came out looking to take the lead. Madeline Snodgrass hit a pass to Summer Lane who put it past the goalkeeper to put Krossfire up 2-1. Krossfire was able to hold off EC Real for the remainder of the game, taking the 2-1 victory.

The second game on Saturday matched Krossfire up against Force North 06G II. Krossfire earned a corner kick that Paige Mclean was able to rocket in past the goalkeeper to put Krossfire up 1-0. From that point on, Krossfire never looked back. Kendra hit a shot in from just outside the 18 and then knocked another one in off a corner kick deflection to put Krossfire up 3-0 at half. The second half was more Krossfire dominance on both sides of the ball. Alana Albarran took a Dakota Baird pass through the defense and into the net. Summer then added another goal to give Krossfire the 5-0 victory.

Sunday morning matched Krossfire against Alpine Strikers FC 06G Red. Summer took a pass from Sophia Simonds and netted Krossfire the 1-0 lead. The second half saw Dakota connecting with Alana again for the 2-0 lead and then Sophia connecting with Kendra to give Krossfire the 3-0 win and move them into the championship match.

Dakota was able to net an Adriana Paneda pass to give Krossfire the 1-0 lead. The second half saw Summer punch in an insurance goal to give Krossfire the 2-0 lead. Krossfire was then able to hold on and get the 2-0 victory and be crowned tournament champions.
