The West Coast Kaos U14 girls closed out their spring season with a Norcal Premier NPL league championship and a semi-finals showing in the State Cup Premier competition.
At home at Robertson Field on Mother’s Day, Kaos played their final league game against San Ramon. Late in the first half, San Ramon managed to score first after a waived off offsides call. But Kaos answered making the score 1-1. Late in the second, Kaos went on the attack with a breakaway but were unable hit the target. The match ended with a tie.
Kaos went undefeated in NPL 3 spring league with an impressive record of 5-4-0. The girls earned a total of 19 points, 3 more than their closest competition to win the title.
Over the weekend Kaos traveled to Davis to play in a Norcal Premier State Cup semi-final match against Orchard Valley Toros. The Toros, a higher ranked team, were up by two at the half. Determined to stay in the game, Kaos battled back with two of their goals from Forward, Alivia Ganz. But the Toros answer with one final shot that sailed into the top corner of Kaos’ goal. The match, and Kaos’ run for the cup, ended with a 2-3 loss against the Toros.
Kaos players now enter the college readiness phase of their soccer career. The girls will focus their competition on college showcase tournaments starting with the West Coast Cup in late May, the U.S. Club West Regionals in June, the Rage Showcase in July, followed by the Surf Cup in early August.
