The largest girls college showcase of the year “Players Showcase” in Las Vegas has nearly 500 girls teams from U12-U19 competing for the coveted title as Showcase Champions.
West Coast Wild obtained legendary status by winning the Players Showcase for the second year in a row, defeating top ranked ECNL teams Slammers ECNL 3-0, So Cal Blues 3-0 shut out Albion SC 0-0 and then won the battle of West Coast clubs in their final match with a 1-0 victory over West Coast FC. Wild racked up 10pts, scoring 7 goals and a stingy 0 goals against in the 4 game showcase. With 4 consecutive state cups titles in a row, 2 back to back National titles and now 2 players showcase titles, West Coast Wild are ranked #1 in the State, #1 in the Region and #1 in the Nation of all Girls teams in the U19 age group. Wild had a plethora of college coaches flocking to see what they are about, as they include players like Delanie Sheehan who will be heading to the U19 National Team training camp in Florida at the end of the month and playing her college soccer at UCLA. Coach and Director of West Coast Troy Dayak said “it was an incredible weekend for all 4 West Coast teams that traveled to Las Vegas for the showcase. Warriors, Wildfire, Katz all showed extremely well and had many college coaches on their sidelines, I had some college coaches tell me that they thought the Wild were the best team they have ever seen in the age group”.
