With two league wins and a trip to quarterfinals in one of the most prestigious soccer tournaments in the nation Surf Cup Socoloco behind them, the West Coast Soccer Wildkatz 05 entered into the first weekend of State Cup play ready to play. On Saturday, October 1st, the WildKatz met Ajax White of Modesto. In the first half of play the teams were tightly matched and the score was 0-0. The Wildkatz came out in the second half ready to play and scored quickly with a goal by Katie Strong. The Wildkatz scored again with goals by Karlee Lywandowsky and Jayden Morton. The Wildkatz defense held Ajax scoreless in both halves and the Wildkatz took their first State Cup win 3-0. On Sunday, October 2, the Wildkatz met Almaden FC Quicksilver of San Jose. The Wildkatz scored quickly in the first half of play with a powerful goal by Jayden Morton. The Wildkatz and Quicksilver battled throughout the game with many shots on goal by the Wildkatz, but the score would remain 1-0 throughout the game and the Wildkatz would take their second State Cup win. Next up for the Wildkatz is league play against Pleasanton Rage Orange on October 8th in Livermore.
