05 Wildkatz continue undefeated run

Wildkatz 05 girls faced off against an older and much larger Central Valley Premier FC Galaxy Elite 04 team from Visalia in NorCal Premier U14 fall league play. The first half of the match ended in a scoreless draw as the WildKatz and Galaxy attacks were stymied by each others strong defense. WildKatz began to find their rhythm in the second half with successful possession and control-style offense which enabled them to apply consistent pressure towards the Galaxy goal. West Coast dominated in opportunities but were missing their mark, the relentless barrage of shots eventually paid off when, with 8 minutes left in the match, defender Taryn Ritchie from Brentwood Ca pushed forward to the top of the opponent’s box, gathered the ball and launched a brilliant bending shot into the left corner to give the Wildkatz the only score they needed to prevail. With this win in hand, the west Coast Wildkatz girls remain undefeated with 11 straight victories in fall. Wildkatz have an amazing 57 goals scored and only 7 against while maintaining the top spot in the standings in NorCal State Premier bracket & State Cup. Coach and Director of West Coast Soccer Troy Dayak met with the parents before fall league began and asked that the parents just sit back and enjoy the kids play, not to coach from the sidelines and let the team and players develop in a positive environment. Develop is an understatement! as team manager Rhonda Lywandowsky stated “This is third game in a row where the referees have come over to our team after the game and commended on how positive the players are and how well they work together as a team, they also mentioned how respectful the parents were to everyone from the sidelines.” Veteran referee Michael Faryabi had this to say about Dayaks team:

“I have been a referee for over 25 years and a competitive coach too. The little West Coast Wildkatz 05 Girls are quite possibly the best all around team I have seen, of course they are young but their sportsmanship & respect for the game shows in the way they play. I was amazed at how every player worked together and were so calm on the ball. It is as though they have a satellite map of where they are all at on the field, defiantly a team to be recognized and watched for the future.”

Captain Jayden Morton helps lead the teams positive attitude.
