The West Coast Kaos U14 girls racked up another win over the weekend in Norcal Premier NPL league play over the weekend. Koas traveled to Sacramento to deliver a 3-0 shutout over Sac United Red.
From the whistle, Kaos took control of the match with an aggressive offense and possession play. Kaos kept the ball in the attacking half for most of the 40 minutes. At the 28th minute, Koas scored their first goal off a corner kick from Kate Zeck, to Kassidy Bracket who volleyed the ball into the left corner of net. Kaos moved ahead 1-0 and remained there through the first half.
Twelve minutes into the second half, Kaos found their second goal of the match on a pass from Zeck to outside-Mid, Alivia Ganz. Ganz received the ball deep in the attacking left corner, dribble past the Sac United defender and delivered a solid shot into the top right corner of the goal. Kaos moved ahead 2-0.
The third Kaos goal came at the 63rd minute on a corner kick from Zeck to Kelsey Brumm who found a hole in the Sac United defense to sneak one into the left corner of the goal. Kaos was now ahead by 3.
Up by 3 and no goals allowed, Kaos was determined to get a shutout. But Sac United, would not give up that easily. The Sac’s offense managed to move the ball down the field putting pressure on the Kaos defense. Koas Goal Keeper, Maddie Mannina, with help from the defensive line of Kiara Rodriquez, Brumm, Bracket, Gabbie Casillas, and Maddie Long, prevented any Sac United shots from crossing the goal line. Mannina and her defense are credited with the shutout.
The match ended with a 3-0 Kaos shutout and an impressive day for the West Coast defense. Kaos’ holding-Mid, Kate Zeck, got a hat trick for assists, and both center-Defenders, Brackett and Brumm scored, while GK Mannina recorded a shutout.
